I spent Saturday hiking through snow up to my waist in Garabaldi Provincial Park; needless to say, my excitement level is through the roof in anticipation of a very early start to the snowboard season. Grey skies and low visibility didn't make for the greatest conditions, but there wasn't a sad face anywhere to be seen... winter is back! I'll post some photos in the next couple days...

Meanwhile, here's a couple shots of Brandywine falls from last February:

Takakkaw Falls, the second highest waterfall in Canada, is one of Yoho National Park's premiere tourist attractions, which means hundreds of people photograph this cascade every day. Like anywhere else in the park, if you hike for even 5 minutes away from the parking lot, the crowds of tourists disappear...

The duotone was shot with my K10D / DA 50-200 from north of the falls along the Yoho Valley trail, while the other two were taken with the DA 18-55, from the more traditional vantage point just below the falls.
